The Fall 2026 CALPADS special education Roadshow recording is now available through the California School Information Services YouTube Channel.
This training gives local special education data coordinators, CALPADS coordinators, and Special Education Local Plan Area staff a focused look at Fall 1 reporting and related special education data requirements. It includes a main presentation as well as an additional hour of live questions and answers.
Who Should Watch the Roadshow?
The Roadshow is especially useful for staff who support:
- Fall 1 CALPADS submissions
- Special education data in a local student information system
- SELPA review and approval activities
- State and federal special education reporting
- District data quality and monitoring processes
Although the training focuses on special education data, Fall 1 accuracy requires coordination across several teams. Enrollment staff, CALPADS staff, special education program staff, and district leaders all play a role in reviewing records and resolving issues before certification.
What the Training Covers
The Fall 2026 Roadshow covers several topics that can help LEAs prepare for Fall 1:
- What is new for Fall 1
- Local system audits that support Fall 1 preparation
- CALPADS Fall 1 data submissions and reports
- The connection between Fall 1 data and Annual Determination Letters
- State Performance Plan and Annual Performance Report Indicators
- Statutory meeting timelines
- CALPADS monitoring reports
These topics matter because special education data does more than complete a submission. It informs monitoring, accountability, and program decisions. A missing or incorrect source record can also create avoidable validation issues later in the reporting process.
Use the Training as a Team Resource
Rather than asking one person to watch the full recording alone, LEAs can use the Roadshow to support a shared review process.
First, identify the sections that relate to each team’s work. Next, ask data owners to review local procedures against the training guidance. Then, create a short action list for system updates, data checks, staff training, and report review.
This approach makes the Roadshow more than a webinar recording. It becomes a practical tool for finding risks early and building a stronger Fall 1 process.
