CALPADS Digest – July 31, 2025: Key Updates and Deadlines for LEAs

The California Department of Education (CDE) released the July 31, 2025, CALPADS Digest to keep Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) informed about deadlines, data updates, and helpful resources. Here’s a quick breakdown of the most important items.

End-of-Year (EOY) Amendment Window

• The EOY Amendment Window is now open and closes August 8, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
• LEAs must approve all four EOY submissions before the deadline.
• SELPAs must approve EOY 3 and 4.
• ⚠️ There will be no extensions granted beyond this deadline.

New Data on DataQuest – Issue #24

Issue #24, published July 17, 2025, includes:

• Five years of Certificated Staff Reports (2019–20 to 2023–24)
  • Staff Counts by Race/Ethnicity
  • Education and Experience Summaries
  • Student/Staff Ratios
• How to access reports and upcoming data releases
• Downloadable data resources

Charter School Reporting Status Window

• Charter schools can request status changes between July 1 – August 31, 2025.
• Submit the Charter Reporting Status Change Form to calpads@cde.ca.gov.
• Requests after August 31 won’t be accepted for 2025–26.

CALPADS Service Desk Closures

Plan ahead for holidays when the CALPADS Service Desk will be closed, including:

• July 4, Sept 1, Nov 11, 27–28, Dec 24–25, 31
• Jan 1, 19, Feb 9, 16, Apr 3, May 25, June 19
