[AZ] Accurate Data in the Special Education Data Dashboard (SEDD)

In a recent reminder from ESS Data Management, the importance of timely and accurate data entry in the Special Education Data Dashboard (SEDD) was emphasized. Here are the key takeaways from the communication:

Important Deadlines:

  • Initial Data Review Deadline: July 15, 2024
  • SEDD Reopens for Certification: July 22, 2024
  • Certification Deadline: August 5, 2024

Modules to Review and Update:

  1. Student Exit Data:

    • Review exit data for Special Education (SPED) students based on specific exit codes, age range, and dates.
    • Ensure compliance with federal SPED guidelines.
    • Use the SPED Exit Flow Chart for guidance.
  2. Preschool Transition Data:

    • Enter data for students transitioning from the Arizona Early Intervention Program (AZEIP) to Part B.
    • This module will be inactive if not applicable.
  3. Students Without Disabilities:

    • Capture data on students without disabilities with an expulsion (W3) exit code.
    • Indicate if such students received educational services during expulsion.
    • This module will be inactive if not applicable.
  4. Discipline Data:

Locking and Certification Process:

  • The data in SEDD will become locked and un-editable after July 15, 2024.
  • SEDD will reopen on July 22 for the Certification phase, accessible only to users with the ESS SEDD: Signer role.
  • PEAs (Public Education Agencies) are required to certify their data within the SEDD application by August 5, 2024.
  • Certification is mandatory for all PEAs, even those with no qualifying data within the modules.
