[AZ] Special Education Data Updates Webinar

Arizona public education agencies can register for ADE’s next Special Education Data Updates webinar on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.

The Exceptional Student Services Data Management team will use this live session to answer general questions about special education data reporting. It is a timely opportunity for teams preparing for the October 1 Student Count and reviewing AzEDS data.

What the Webinar May Cover

ADE has identified several possible discussion areas:

• October 1 Student Count questions
• AzEDS integrity failures
• Other special education data reporting topics

The session will focus on questions from the field. Therefore, attendees should come prepared with general reporting questions that would help their team move forward.

Why This Session Matters

The October 1 Data Collection is part of Arizona’s annual federal special education reporting process. It includes student-count and personnel data, followed by reconciliation work in AzEDS.

A data question that remains unresolved can become an integrity issue, a delayed correction, or a last-minute reporting problem. Asking early gives teams more time to review records, clarify requirements, and make needed corrections.

How to Prepare

Before the webinar, review the questions your team has encountered in AzEDS or during October 1 collection preparation.

For example, consider asking about:

• Integrity failures your team needs help interpreting
• Student-count reporting scenarios
• Source-data issues that affect special education records
• Reconciliation steps and reporting responsibilities

However, do not share student names, SSIDs, dates of birth, or any other personally identifiable information during the webinar. Instead, use a de-identified example that explains the reporting scenario without identifying a student.
