Arizona AzEDS Student Reporting Deadlines for 2026–27

Arizona school districts and charter schools preparing for the 2026–27 school year (FY 2027) should have the state’s AzEDS student reporting schedule on their calendars.

The Arizona Department of Education (ADE) has published its FY 2027 Monthly Payment and AzEDS Processing Schedule, with student data transactions for the new fiscal year beginning in June 2026.

Here’s what district and charter school data teams need to know.

FY 2027 AzEDS Student Data Reporting Begins June 1

ADE states that AzEDS will be available for FY 2027 instructional calendars and student data transactions beginning June 1, 2026.

The FY 2027 AzEDS API availability period runs from:

June 1, 2026 through July 15, 2027

Districts should work with their student information system (SIS) provider to ensure their FY 2027 instructional calendars and student records are flowing successfully to AzEDS.

FY 2027 AzEDS Data Capture Dates

For student reporting, one of the most important dates each month is the AzEDS Data Capture deadline.

ADE uses student data submitted through AzEDS to calculate Average Daily Membership (ADM). On each data capture date, the state stores a static copy of ADM, which is then used in determining state aid.

For FY 2027, the primary student-data capture deadlines are:

Why AzEDS Data Quality Matters Before Each Deadline

ADE specifically instructs districts and charter schools to make sure their data is reconciled and free of integrity errors before monthly data capture.

That makes AzEDS reporting an ongoing process rather than a single annual submission.

Student enrollment, attendance and membership information maintained in the SIS ultimately affects the ADM calculated through AzEDS. Waiting until the day of a data capture to investigate integrity errors can therefore create unnecessary risk.

District data teams should establish an internal review process ahead of each monthly deadline to confirm that student records have successfully reached AzEDS and address integrity issues while there is still time to make corrections.

Instructional Calendars Are Part of the AzEDS Process

FY 2027 instructional calendars also need to be submitted through AzEDS.

ADE requires school districts and charter districts to create an instructional calendar for each school site. These calendars are entered into the local SIS and submitted to AzEDS.

The superintendent or authorized representative must certify that each calendar meets Arizona’s minimum instructional time requirements.

ADE also warns that failing to meet the instructional calendar deadline can delay the initial release of state aid.

Special Education Student Data in AzEDS

Special education teams should also prepare for AzEDS reporting during 2026–27.

ADE’s Exceptional Student Services Data Management team has announced its beginning-of-year training specifically for the 2026–2027 reporting year. The training covers annual IDEA 618 requirements, reporting to AzEDS, ESS data applications and related reporting resources.

Districts should watch ADE’s ESS Data Management communications for FY27-specific special education deadlines as they are published.

What Arizona Districts Should Do for 2026–27

For a smoother FY 2027 reporting year, Arizona districts and charter schools should:

  1. Confirm FY27 SIS-to-AzEDS connectivity. Student data transactions became available June 1, 2026.
  2. Submit and verify instructional calendars. Make sure calendars successfully reach AzEDS and meet state requirements.
  3. Monitor integrity errors throughout the month. Don’t wait until a data capture deadline to begin reconciliation.
  4. Build the 15th into your reporting calendar. Most FY27 AzEDS captures occur on the 15th of each month.
  5. Review data before 5:00 p.m. on capture days. The data present in AzEDS at capture is what ADE uses for that processing cycle.
  6. Plan for the July 15, 2027 statewide recalculation. This is the final FY27 date listed on ADE’s current AzEDS processing schedule.

Staying Ahead of FY 2027 AzEDS Reporting

For Arizona districts, accurate state reporting starts in the SIS.

With monthly AzEDS data captures throughout FY 2027, districts should focus on maintaining clean student data continuously, reviewing AzEDS integrity results regularly, and correcting problems well before each capture deadline.

A good internal reporting calendar should therefore include more than ADE’s official deadlines. Setting district review dates several days before each AzEDS capture can give staff time to identify SIS issues, correct student records, resync data and confirm that corrections have successfully reached the state.
